A moisture-laden trough approaching from the Great Lakes will spread an area of rain across the Maritimes on Friday. The rain should persist for most of the daylight hours. There is also a risk of thundershowers during the morning and afternoon. General rainfall amounts of 20 to 40 millimetres are expected..However locally higher amounts of 40 to 50 millimetres are possible. Environment Canada continues to monitor the situation closely. The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as warnings may be required.
