Special shout-out to my peeps about American Modern Ensemble, the group I founded and have been Artistic Director of, with my lovely wife Victoria Paterson (Executive Director) for 10 years. We have huge plans for the future which were really close to announcing, but need to keep a lid on it for now. But more immediately: AME is celebrating its 10th Season. 10 years! Thats like 100 years in chamber music land. We are extremely proud of the work weve done, whether its the ca. 150 composers weve programmed, or the ca. 30 programs weve presented, ALL of new music, and almost all of the works (95% or so) by living American composers, most of whom have attended our concerts, our AME composition competition, or the amazing recording weve released (or will be releasing) on American Modern Recordings (AMR), our house label. We are also very, very honored to have in our AME family many of NYCs best performers, most of whom youll see on October 30th. We are incredibly grateful for their hard work over the years, whether past or present.
