Special times, certain places, precious memories of a loved one always bring comfort & some peace when most needed. Today it was needed..so we decided to take the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful winters day. We soaked in the warm sunshine & spent the afternoon fishing. This was one of Brodies favourite things to do besides Football & doing something he loved gives us a sense of closeness. He would say Theres nothing like putting on some old clothes, chopping bait, fishing, exploring & smelling like fish guts. lol It never mattered to him, if he didnt catch anything, he just wanted to fish & hang out with Dad, Mum, brothers & sister. Today, we created some new memories while sharing some old. We spoke of some of Brodies fishing experiences, the fish he had caught & the times we shared together. It has become very obvious to us that the boys talking about their big brother is comforting to them also. Their endless talks about Brodie always makes us smile. Having had five children, there was never a dull moment so as you can imagine there are plenty of stories. I think back to those days as the Normal good old days when we were a family of seven & without a care in the world. Not only is it heartbreaking to lose your child but so frightening & scary to have your world change in a heartbeat. Looking at photos I took today & some I have shared with you, our family will never be the same, there is one little person missing...Brodie. Honestly, I dont think I will ever understand why but in this moment now, these new memories have become our New normal & as much as we wish more then anything we could change the past we must look to the future & enjoy the time we have. Although Brodie is no longer here, we feel his presence always. Forever loved..
