Spent most of the day rewiring and rearranging the components of the “entertainment center”. Had a major equipment failure a couple of weeks ago. Now have to do a major work-around. I hate wires. As my son who’s the brains behind this kluge (thank you, Michael) charitably put it, all this equipment is “older generation” (maybe five years old). I would update to wireless, but I’d probably have to buy a new TV, new DVD player, new CD player, etc. Or migrate to the cloud. I’ve lived in a cloud (or fog, if you’re feeling sarcastic) most of my life but I have an aversion to giving control of my data to Microsoft/Google/Apple. Heck, I haven’t even figured out the latest iteration of iTunes yet, how am I supposed to handle everything being in the ether? Sometimes I am so twentieth-century! If the old adage of change-or-stagnate is true, today I’m feeling very lichen-like.
