Spent some time planning what needs to be included in our luggage when we set sail aboard the Carnival Magic for eight days in the Western Caribbean. The last time we were on a cruise was 37 years ago for our honeymoon. The Italian cruise liner Costa has since been acquired by Carnival Cruise lines. I would imagine that we will not be greeted by a Silvio Berloscionesque sommelier attempting to ascertain our dining preferences in Italian as we were 37 years ago. Nor will any off color remarks about only messing up only one of the twin beds in the room be made. Still I am spending entirely too much time attempting to operationalize " cruise elegant" for the benefit of a spouse who wore a powder blue tuxedo at his wedding and a leisure suit and dashiki as part of his vacation apparel.
