Spent time in Rwanda last year, left wondering why I never met the authority. Turns out I did many times. In-fact I lived with a local leader. Just never got impressed by authority, maybe coz they felt no need to impress me. I guess when authority is not going out of its way to show you whos BOSS, you just go on with your life as if security just falls from the sky. I wish it were the norm in Africa not just Kigali as it is the norm in Rotterdam. Maybe I just had low expectation. Looked forward to pita pande hi and kitu kidogo. Kind of disappointed yet proud in Kigali local police mashaallah.
