Spilled water all over my phone, it has finally broken for good - thank God my best friend gave me his phone to use. The sad part is that I have lost photographs and videos of some VERY important memories of the past few months. They say that living with the memories that make you the happiest, from those moments in your life when the joy was so intense and everything felt perfect is a very important factor in maintaining a semblance of sanity in this otherwise insane reality we have found ourselves in. And photographs are crucial to live around as reminders of such times. Now all I have is the organic memories in my head. The trouble with that is that our minds are editing machines. They cut out certain parts and add in others. And machines can also break. The machine in your head, it fades the memories, warps and distorts them and distorts the images you want to hold onto so badly. By losing those photos, I have lost more than memories - I have lost tangible evidence that I DID experience something life-changing. There is one positive aspect to this whole situation, however - I know in my BONES - that some incredible memories are about to be made, I am actually predicting that in 10 days from now, all will be well. Oh yes, and I am going to invest in a camera. Not going to risk losing pictures of precious moments again.
