Spirit Lake Noon Kiwanis Legion of Honor recipients In December of 2013 Kiwanis International Foundation and the Spirit Lake Noon Club recognized Legion of Honor recipients. The success of Kiwanis in each community is through the strong and active service that is consistently given by its members. To be eligible, a Kiwanian must have at least 25 years of service with the organization. As this is a very prestigious award, each recipient deserves to receive personal and individual recognition from their peers. Due to logistics, some were unable to attend the ceremony in December.On August 14th, the Spirit Lake Noon club was able to honor the following recipients: 1st picture: Ryan Schmidt – club president, Larry Shaffer – 35 years, Jim Hitchcock – 26 years. 2nd picture: Berkley Bedell – charter member & 66 years, Jack Bedell – 63 years, Bob Boettcher – 47 years, Bud Getman – 36 years. In December 2013 the following were honored: Blaine Hoien & Al Klein – 66 years (also charter members), Ken Westergard – 56 years, Tom Boeke – 53 years, Norm Meinking – 52 years, Charles Wetzeler – 51 years, Dean Hummel – 46 years, Jim Ladegaard – 42 years, Karl Kiilsholm – 43 years, Earl Maahs – 39 years, Kim Wermersen – 33 years, Richard Ayres – 29 years, William Wetzeler – 27 years.
