Spiritual Mansions MTV has a show called Cribs where they highlight celebrity homes and their expensive toys. Some of these homes are mansions, being several thousand square feet in size. They are equipped with stainless steel appliances, hardwood flooring, and recessed lighting to name a few. Some of these mansions have things that most people dream of one day owning. If you conducted a poll, I’m sure most people would say they would love to live in mansion if they could afford it. Many have taken the scripture to suggest that God has mansions waiting for His children when they get to heaven. Allow me to challenge you today. Jesus said, “In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” While many have dreams of one day living in a mansion, have you ever thought that God wants us to be a mansion? Could it be that the place that Jesus spoke of preparing for us is in us, and that we are the mansion He was referring too? He said there were many didn’t He? Scripture also says that we are the temple of the Holy Ghost. God is preparing us for Himself so that He might dwell in the best. Not a house made with hands, but a place prepared by His Spirit. John 14:2; 1 Corinthians 6:19; Acts 7:48
