Splitter™ wellhead configurations of three or two independent - TopicsExpress

Splitter™ wellhead configurations of three or two independent wells in a common conductor, can be configured in various ways to meet customers’ requirements. A common configuration is a Splitter™ type starting head with dual bowl landing head and conventional components for the rest of the wellhead. This allows the placing of two bowls in a single head: • Separate dual starting heads may also be used. • The ultra slim wellhead (USW) triple allows for flexibility to drill and complete 1, 2 or 3 wells from a single conductor. • Each well may be completed as single or dual completions. Field proven technology The Splitter™ model, ‘LST’ (lateral slim twin) and USW systems have been installed in various regions around the world with over 3 000 successful installations. A surface Splitter™ wellhead system lets you drill more than one well from a single wellbore with multiple surface, intermediate and production casing and tubing strings. There is no need for additional conductors and associated space, time and equipment. The system reduces the number of slots on the platform hence the area exposed to wave loading is reduced; platform jacket and deck area may be smaller and less costly. Applications • Use existing slots • New and existing platforms • Minimum-concept platforms • Multi-branch horizontal wells • Environmentally sensitive areas Features and benefits • Standard drilling procedures • Minimise platform spacing • Drill where location costs cannot support single wells • Perform workover independently • Use of standard and existing components Improves economics • Reduces overall drilling time and costs • Reduces platform size significantly • Improves economics of platforms • Fewer slots on new platforms • Maximises slot use on existing platforms • Reduces deck space • Requires smaller wellhead bay • Maximises slot utilization • Makes adding a slot more cost effective • Reduces platform abandonment cost
