[Spoil alert] Yes, it’s the end! Finally I sit down, on a rainy day to write about my most favorite series ever, “How I Met Your Mother”. Started to watch the show from a friend’s suggestion, I finish 9 years airing of 9 seasons within a 9 month span. I give so much of my love for the TV series, which I significantly find myself in every little detail, even I feel like the show was made for me, only me and once decided to definitely get married the one who loves HIMYM as much as I do. Let me tell you why I love the show that much! It is, initially, insanely hilarious. How hard to stop laughing in an episode, to be honest, I sometimes do find it incredibly tough to breath because of over-chuckling. Remember when Robin trolled the others with “but, um”, remember when Robin gave Lily the naughty gift at bachelor party, remember all the unbelievable crazy stuffs Barney and the gang have done, remember Lily’s “prepare-to-dance” accent when fighting with Robin, remember Marshall-Lily’s high five and how Marshall became so girly, remember the “woo girls”, remember the cutest “nobody-asked-you” Patrick, the irrelevant private driver Ranjit =)))))))) And all thousands things that make me wonder how come the writers are that humorous. More than the laugh HIMYM has brought to me, it’s the precious life lessons learned about relationships, friendships, and appreciation behind every story. It taught me the most tremendous and silly ideas of the brocode, the play book, dating tips, marriage lesson,… As Ted, Robin, Barney, Marshall, Lily, I am lucky and thankful to have the best friends in my life, who let me feel free to be the real me, laugh and live for each other. Nevertheless, as we grow up, we have to do nothing but separate to focus on our individual life, just like the five characters do. The moment Lily said goodbye to Ted leaving to Chicago, then Robin stayed away from the gang for years, it breaks my heart a lot. Since UK life has made me become a more sensitive person, I miss my group more than ever. Above all, that is life we have to bear, the crucial is, we all have each other during the important events of our lives! The more laughter the show has given us in the beginning, the more touching and meaningful it becomes in the later parts. Certainly, I find myself in every character of the show, a Ted – deeply faithful guy who always believes in “the universe”, a Barney – crazy talk, serious action, who thinks of the most lunatic ideas on Earth, in contrast, silently tries to do the best for others, a Robin – covering herself with outer strength but deep down inside is a vulnerable heart, Marshal; & Lily – most adorable couple that is possibly needed to learn in my future marriage life ahead. The discussion still calls for the controversial end. As for me, it is a reasonable wrap-up. The writers successfully delivered the message of both destiny and reality. People, who are meant to be with each other, ultimately, come together. The Mother is not born to stay beside Ted, it’s for Max – the ex lovers living in heaven for now. And Ted, through all the up and down in his life, his “the one” is no other but Robin. Ted is the guy who cares for and understands Robin the most, the fact is too obvious to deny. Barney, he gives Robin his everything, however, did he realize “Nah, it’s stupid” is “it’s important” according to Robin-ese sooner than Ted? Did he desperate try to find the locket – universe sign for Robin? And do you still remember Ted and Robin made a pact deciding to get married “If the years go by and we both turn 40 and were still single”? Another case in point, in real life, things do not happen joyfully as we wish, on the contrary, we have to comply with where fate places us and appreciate tiny moments; that is the only to achieve happiness rather than struggling to find what we desire to. What HIMYM has given us, the audience, are the wonderful memories and stories all through that time, don’t underestimate the show for just an ending that did not happily satisfy your own opinion. In fact, I do not even care about the Mother. If, moreover, the show had ended in the way that every viewer was able to guess, how less “legendary” would it be? The writers made an excellent twist! If this is the real closing, it is the best. Another last but not least thing I am impressed about the series is the music, beautifully rare pieces that totally meet the storyline. One of those is The Shins’ “Simple Song” - an extraordinary uptempo sad song. [https://youtube/watch?v=GyAJ4V06izg] Thank you so much the creators, actors, actresses and ekip of “How I Met Your Mother” for giving me a magnificent show I’ve ever watched, lifting me up when I’m down, and making me smile to link the story with my life. And thank you, my bro Tuấn Anh Lê, for recommending to step into the world of HIMYM. #HIMYM #HIMYMFinale
