Spoke with quite a few people today regarding Vigore! and though humbled with pleas to keep her going, I have not changed my mind about ending her.... so with our upcoming final issue in production and the final special supplement featuring Paris FW in September her ending will be yet theres so much more for past contributors to ponder... Vigore! Magazine was never meant to be about me but for others as a platform for talent to push limits globally... Throughout Vigore!s 3 year span, Ive worked behind the scenes with many photographers either by phone or email helping hoping for limits to be pushed within the confines of fashion photography... Vigore!s attitude from the beginning was about breaking rules but... one has to know the rules before one can break the rules... Vigore! was a platform for creatives to push limits in fashion and art photography but, most importantly, a vehicle to push and challenge themselves - Ive spent a lot of time during Vigore!s time with creatives and those Ive mentored and encouraged know who you are but this is the deal: this is NOT the end for anyone; remember our conversations and apply it and submit to other magazine only with your best and definately from the depths of your soul... Do not settle for average - Thousands upon thousands of photography - and articles - have passed my desk throughout Vigore!s run and very few made me stop and be wowed... I find far too many trying to emulate others work instead of exploring and developing his/her own style.. and as an artist myself, I believe whats missing in todays creative world is passion and willingness to take risks -- To be acknowledged, one must be passionately willing to take risks... sometimes you win and sometimes you dont but you never know until you try... So my word for all creatives is this: turn off all outside noise and find your own voice delving deeply within your own soul... take risks and if fashion photography is your passion then LEARN its fundamentals and most importantly be kind to yourselves... its a process with rejection sometimes being a blessing... know Ill be checking and hope many of those whove contributed to Vigore! move on to become the legends of tomorrow - I believe in each and every one of you and am proud to have served... spread your wings and fly with passion and with confidence!
