Sri Lankan Ala Badum. I have been cooking thhis dish for 61 years now and its still a favourite with friends and family. Ingredients:- 1 Lb potatoes, peeled, boiled and cut into bite sized pieces 1/2 Lb onions sliced 1 small green pepper diced 1 small red pepper diced 1 tsp salt 1/4 tsp turmeric 1 tsp chilli powder 1 tsp paprika 6 Tbsp cooking oil 2 curry leaves 1/2 tsp ground mustard seeds 1 cinnamon stick 1 tsp lime juice Directions:- 1).In a bowl mix the potatoes with the salt, turmeric, chilli powder and paprika. Heat oil in a heavy pot, fry the curry leaves for a few seconds, now add the onions and diced peppers, with the mustard seeds and cinnamon. Fry till onions are golden. 2). Add the potatoes to the pot and stir till the the whole thing is heated through. 3). Discard the cinnamon stick and sprinkle the potatoes with the lime juice. 4). Enjoy.
