Srinagar-Jammu highway open for one-way JAMMU, OCTOBER 13: The 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu national highway, connecting the Kashmir valley with the rest of the country, was put through today for one-way after remaining closed for three days. However, the traffic was being allowed through Mughal road during this period. Traffic on the highway was suspended to allow repair of large portion of the road which was washed away due to heavy rains and landslides last month. There would be only one-way traffic till the road is completely repaired, the officials said, adding that no vehicle will be allowed from opposite direction and those who intend to travel on the highway are requested to contact Traffic Police Control Room before starting the journey. However, during the closure days, traffic was allowed through Mughal road, they said.
