St Johns Centre in Old Trafford Summer School Volunteers required 2 WEEKS wk1 - 28th July – 1st August wk2 - 4th – 8th August St Johns Centre are looking for enthusiastic, supportive and reliable volunteers to work with children aged 8+yrs at their annual Summer School. The scheme runs Mon - Fri 10am- 3pm and can take 50 children each day. Staff are expected to be there 30 mins before and after to set up and clear away. There will be trips out that may result in late returns. Times and days to be arranged to suit your availability full day is 9.30am – 3.30pm half day is 9.30am – 12noon OR 12noon – 3.30pm Duties: Setting up putting out everything needed for activities on the day Helping to run art/craft and play activities during the session Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the children Tidying up putting everything away, sweeping the floor, washing tables, etc. Volunteers would need to have the following: Good interpersonal skills and be happy to work as part of a team Ability to work with children Be able to use your own initative Good reasons to volunteer Gain skills and experience with a friendly and caring staff team. Access a free training course prior to the Summer School which will give you the basics. Volunteer expenses can be paid. If you have your own children aged 8+yrs St Johns can offer them a free place on the Summer School in return for your hours.
