St. Scholastica Academy recognized those students who received athletic awards in cross country, swimming and volleyball. At the Recognition Assembly assistant principal Eileen Depreo read the names of each team member and award recipient or athlete receiving a participation pin from their respective team coach and SSA Athletic Director Charles Richard. The cross country team is coached by Chris Pool and Katie Hamel ’06 (Asst. Coach). Cross country junior high team member Zoe Perrin received the Most Valuable Player Award. The Most Improved Award went to Laine Silver. The Coach’s Award was received by Elizabeth Krutzfeldt. On junior varsity cross country, the Most Improved Runner was Katelyn LeBlanc and the Most Valuable Player award went to Julianne Yaeger. The Coach’s Award was received by Delaney Walsh, who also received Academic All State. Varsity cross country Most Improved Runner was Monica Guillot, and the Coach’s Award was earned by Madeleine Morgan, who also received Academic All State. Carley Boyce received the Most Valuable Player award and was recognized as All State, Academic All State, All District and All Metro. Allyson Seals received All District, All Metro and All State. Faith Andras, Gabriella Averill, Alaina Chifici and Gabriella Regard received Academic All State. The swim team, coached by Chris Prator (Head Coach) and Shannon Prator (Asst. Coach) handed out awards for MVP, Coach’s Award, Most Improved and a Comeback Swimmer Award. In varsity swimming, Lili Poulsen received the award for Most Improved. Madeleine Rawls received the Coach’s Award, Outstanding Metro Swimmer and All District. Anne Bailey Girault received the Comeback Swimmer Award. Kristen Jennings received the MVP award. Emily Prieto received All District. All Metro swimmers are: Margaret Eckert, Anne Bailey Girault, Kristen Jennings, Brittany Pierce, Emily Prieto and Madeleine Rawls. All State swimmers are: Carley Boyce, Margaret Eckert, Anne Bailey Girault, Kristen Jennings, Lindsey Parkins, Brittany Pierce, Emily Prieto and Madeleine Rawls. Carley Boyce and Sarah Durapau were recognized as a member of the Academic All State Composite Team. In junior varsity swimming, the Coach’s Award went to Reese Ingram. On the eighth grade team, Most Improved went to Amy Schneida. Sarah Drivon received the Coach’s Award and Alyssa Navarro received the Most Valuable Player award. The volleyball team, coached by Pete Bertucci (Head Coach), Lauren Waclawczyk (Asst. Coach) and Jessica Wolz (8th Grade Asst. Coach) handed out awards for Most Improved, Most Valuable Player, Offensive MVP, Defensive MVP and Coach’s Award. On the varsity volleyball team, Mikayla Richard received the Coachs Award. Maggie Palopoli earned the Outstanding Teammate Award. Emma Estapa received the Outstanding Player Award, All District and All Metro. Jessica Lucio also received the Outstanding Player Award, All District, All State and All Clarion Herald team. Alexis Barcia made All District, LHSAA All Star Participant and Academic All State. Natalie Helm made All District and Academic All State. Receiving Composite Academic All State were: Jessica Bourgeois and Madeline Luke. Gabby Chaix and Maddie Morris made 2nd Team All District. On the junior varsity team, Coach’s Awards went to Rachel Tabor and Allison Weimer. In eighth grade volleyball, Allison Farr received the Coach’s Award, Emily Toups received the Leadership Award and Kellie Garraway earned the Most Valuable Player Award.
