Stalwarts of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital have asked President Goodluck Jonathan to appoint, a former Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Mohammed Wakil as the minister from the state. The reason according to them is that “Wakil has remained as one of the influential Borno men that is ever ready to spend his last kobo for PDP activities in the state. He deserves to be the minister from Borno State.” Speaking on behalf of the members, Babagana Zanna of Shehuri North said that Wakil has contributed immensely to the development of the party not only in Borno State, but the country at large. Wakil hails from Azir town in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno.
