Stand With Fast Food Workers Thursday, December 5th, from 11:30 am -- 12:30 pm; McDonalds at 17th/Hillside. We are holding a prayer vigil for one hour to increase awareness in our community and among the workers in Wichita about how fast food employees are fighting back. All across the United States fast food workers will be striking on that same day, including fast food restaurants in Kansas. The prayer vigil is to inform workers at our local fast food restaurants that this work is happening now, that they can stand up for themselves, and that a better working life is possible. We want to inspire them to take that next step and demand what theyre worth, and the best way to do that is to show them that they have community support. Thats why its important for you to show up -- the more of us that show support, the more people the workers will realize they have on their side. McDonalds rakes in billions of dollars in profit a year, squeezing our local franchisees and the worker at the bottom for all they are worth. They can afford to pay a living wage. Come on out. Dont just read history. Start writing it with us.
