Stanford University study on Spirulina as anti-cancer agent Stanford University and the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic collaborate on a Feb 2014 study of Spirulina Platensis effects on pancreatic cancer cells with exciting results. .....The anti-proliferative effects of Spirulina platensis were also shown in vivo, where inhibition of pancreatic cancer growth was evidenced since the third day of treatment. In conclusion, Spirulina platensis and its tetrapyrrolic components substantially decreased the proliferation of experimental pancreatic cancer. These data support a chemopreventive role of this edible alga. READ THE STUDY ABSTRACT: NCBI PubMed.gov US National Library of Medicine:ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24552870
