Start of Communication BMW of North America is pleased to announce the all-new MY15 BMW X5 M Sports Activity Vehicle (F85) and X6 M Sports Activity Coupe (F86). The official Start of Communication is October 29th, 2014 at 7 PM EDT. The first generation X5 M and X6 M marked the first time BMW M GmbH had produced an M variant off of an all-wheel drive BMW X model. Now entering their second generation, both models feature significant powertrain upgrades, enhanced chassis elements and tuning, lighter weight and even more distinct design than their predecessors in order to once again set the benchmark in their respective classes. In true BMW X style, these qualities come along with all the robustness, practicality, useability and exclusivity expected of such models. Design As with every M model, design follows function. The aesthetic specificities of the all new X5 M and X6 M leave little doubt as to their dynamic potential. Both models feature typical M aerodynamic and design cues such as: a large front air dam with three air intakes a wide Kidney Grille with high-gloss black double slats and model badging the side gills also integrate the model designation, as well as the Air breather aerodynamically optimized dual-arm side mirrors 4 exhaust tailpipes a fully functional rear diffusor Exteriors fully painted in body color are another element differentiating both models from their regular X5 and X6 siblings. The X6 M goes even further and integrates a rear spoiler for the first time. Both X5 M and X6 M are completed with standard 21 bicolor M light Alloy wheels wrapped in mixed non-runflat Michelin Pilot Super Sport UHP tires. Two new colors will also be introduced with the new X5 M and X6 M: Donington Grey metallic and Long Beach Blue metallic
