Started today on ABCs This Week talking about politics, spent most of the day in the park with 5-year-old grand-daughter who couldnt care less about politics. But because our current politics is so dysfunctional, she and her generation will inherit an America that in many ways is more fragile than the nation was when I was young. Then, we were headed toward shared prosperity. Now were heading in the opposite direction. Are we still a single society whose members have responsibilities toward one another? Or are we a collection of self-seeking individuals who happen to inhabit the same nation?
