Started watching Boyhood on the plane. Cant get through it. The acting is (apart from Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette) terrible. There are kitschy nods to the era (references to 9/11, Nintendo, tamagotchi etc), but theres no story. Nothing, really. Just a kid growing up. Im about 1/2 through, he just turned 15, and I need motivation to watch the next 90 minutes. Why is this movie so impressive? Because so far ... meh.
