Starting high school can be pretty intense. Everybody knows this. You can get a whole new spin on it whilst watching your children grow through it. The best way Ive found with teaching my son about keeping things in perspective is to never rely solely on the vision we have of ourselves from the social mirror - from whatever current social paradigm or from the opinions, perceptions of other people. To only see yourself in that way would be like the reflection in the crazy fun house mirror at the carnival.
