Starting on a new project. This is a reference I chose for myself as a possible student project for my trip the the Airbrush Action Getaway in the spring. This version is being painted on a 5x7 piece of Crescent 215 illustration board. I am using ETac EFX paint for its extreme erasability and it just smells awesomely fruity. I have started in a mix of umber and Paynes grey . I am using an Iwata CM-B and many texturing tools and erasers. As you can see in the pics the printed reference is in the red/purple color range as my printer needs ink. I will be shifting this piece into the Warmer tones of red, gold, sienna,orange. I started by transferring the image to the board with a pencil and graphite paper, then decided to tape the reference(printed on card stock)to the board, and proceeded to cut the image apart to get crisp lines for my initial mapping. This allows me to get fairly dark in my darkest areas and keep other areas from over spray lessening the amount of erasing needed in this layer. More to come as I work through this piece.
