State of Absorption By: Elisa Bon A night filled with anticipation and inquires raised like smoke to the heavens. There is a window transporting to another dimension, almost fantastic to believe upon. In the midst of still introspection the soul travels far away seeking for responses unheard of. A strange awakening, a kind of sudden entrancement, but the substance lies below in a profound sleep. The projection of my soul seats on the center of the bed, but who is that human dressed in a white long garment seating across from me? With an air of stoicism round about; his eyes met my eyes as if he was looking into my soul. We observed each other and I am trying to decipher his nature, but it is unclear to me. There is not threat or fear, things could have been said, however, no word between us came to pass. My spirit inquired about the unusual apparition, and the reasons of being so. There was no spiritual or physical illness in him, his flesh seemed so young but his sight breathed intelligence all over. He did not move, and I noticed he was wearing my wool tallit and it was nicely fold upon his head (like when one puts the tallit away after concluding the prayers) and the tzitzit was hanging from both sides of his face as he observed me. My soul was restless about the meaning of the encounter, I was not fearful of him, but I was overwhelmed with curiosity and awe. A limited perception is a kind of knowledge depending on the senses to interpret the world around us, however, there is that reality, intangible, everlasting, true. I awake from my dream feeling that it ended to soon and I was wondering about the vision. What do you wish to reveal, I pondered in my mind? How can one elicit from the multiple interpretations that which is foreordain?
