Statement from MNA about the release of the video from St. Johns hospital “It’s sad that we all have to see this horrible act of violence, but it’s a stark reminder that nurses and other healthcare workers face the danger of patient on nurse violence that nurses and healthcare workers face every day. We hope that if anything positive comes out of this tragedy, that’s it’s more attention to the staffing and training necessary in hospitals on how to react and prevent patient on nurse violence. Minnesota nurses would also like to recognize the dedication our colleagues at St. John’s who responded with courage and professionalism. They ran to care for their fellow nurses and healthcare workers but also the patients those victims were taking care of.
