Stay United Now in those days when the disciples were increasing in number, the Hellenists murmured against the Hebrews because their widows were neglected in the daily distribution. Acts 6:1 Acts of the Apostles tells us the story of the impact the apostles have on the world after Jesus rose from the dead and ascended into heaven. Men who had been cowards become bold witnesses for Jesus. They preach out in public, stand up to the same religious authorities who put Jesus to death, and more and more people join their movement. The movement is growing, but then suddenly they hit a road bump. The Hellenist (Greek) widows are not being fed by the Church, so there is murmuring and complaining and potentially division because of this problem. The Church is to be a movement that makes an impact and changes the world. Yet, we cannot make an impact on the world if we are fighting and murmuring among ourselves. Pray today for the Church. Pray that the inevitable problems that develop will not be a source of division, but rather would bring unity of purpose
