Stay safe, everyone! - PAGASA raised Public Storm Warning Signal No. 2 over Isabela and Cagayan provinces on Saturday afternoon as TS Luis (international name Kalmaegi) continues to intensify. The storm is expected to make landfall in the Isabela-Cagayan area on Sunday night. PAGASA wrote that these areas may experience wind strengths ranging from 61 to 100kph and heavy to intense rainfall within the next 24 hours. Meanwhile, Public Storm Warning Signal No. 1 has been raised in the following areas: Catanduanes Calayan Babuyan Group of Islands Apayao Kalinga Ifugao Mt. Province Nueva Viscaya Quirino Aurora Heavy to intense rainfall will persist in those areas, but wind strength is predicted to range from 30 to 60kph in at least 36 hours. All areas listed under signal no. 1 and 2 are advised to prepare for possible landslides and flashfloods, while those living in coastal areas under signal no. 2 must remain alert against storm surges of less than 2 meters. Moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall and thunderstorms may persist over Bicol, Samar, and Quezon due to the Southwest Monsoon (Hanging Habagat), augmented by the effects of TS Luis. Likewise, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon may experience light to moderate rains and thunderstorms. Meanwhile, areas in Visayas were issued a yellow or heavy rainfall warning, including the following: Aklan Capiz Iloilo Antique Negros Siquijor Biliran Island Northern Leyte Low-lying areas were cautioned against flooding, while mountainous regions were warned of possible landslides due to heavy rains. Due to the storm, fishing boats and other small seacrafts were advised not to venture out the seaboards of Visayas and the eastern seaboard of both Southern Luzon and Mindanao
