Stay with me here... In Part 1, while in 1955 and watching Doc destroy the letter, Marty decides to go back about 10 minutes earlier to try and warn Doc. The DeLoreans chronic starter problems probably saved the day... Heres why. Marty had to run to the mall from Town Sqaure rather than using the DeLorean which would have gotten him there much quicker. Had he gotten there quicker, he would have encountered another Marty. I forsee two possibilities... One, coming face to face with himself would put him into shock and hed say Whoa, this is heavy.. Or two, the encounter could create a time paradox, the result of which could cause a chain reaction that would unravel the very fabric of the space-time continuum and destroy the entire universe! (I kinda borrowed some of that.) Either way, theres now Two Martys and two DeLoreans in 1985. Hows THAT work?!!
