Staying in balance... The moon goes into Sagittarius today at 1:17p EDT (10:17a PDT, 5:17p GMT), and heads towards its first quarter phase. The sun in Virgo would like to focus on the details, while the Sag moon wants to look up and grasp the bigger picture. With Mercury in the last degree of Virgo for most of the day, looking up from work or whatever task is before us could be a challenge. If the devil is in the details then we may find the pitchfork to be very pointy indeed. Despite the Sagittarian pull towards taking an overview of a situation, this placement of Mercury suggests that focus and concentration on the particulars is where we will place our emphasis. A lunar square to Neptune later tonight may wind up warping the lenses of both microscope and telescope, and whether we are looking at minutia or the overall scheme of things we could see things out of proportion, although a very strong Mercury will help us to adjust and to analyze. A more intuitive, right-brained approach works best with Neptune. Although the proportions may be wrong, it does show us what is important to us. Today calls for a few tricky balances: details and overview, left and right brain, thinking and feeling. Perhaps the best strategy today is to roll through all of these with the awareness that youre only seeing one part of the story at any one time.
