Steve Patterson spotted two eaglets hed been monitoring and photographing for nearly a year. Both were grounded and seriously injured, the result of a storm that had dislodged part of the birds nest. He brought them home to take care of them, then he called the authorities. Patterson thought he was doing the right thing, but his actions resulted in charges of unlawfully taking a protected species and unlawfully taking a bird of prey.
