Steve Scheffler Elected to RNC Site Selection Committee Iowas National Committeeman to Help Decide on 2016 Convention Location DES MOINES, Iowa- On Friday, Iowas National Committeeman Steve Scheffler was elected to the Republican National Committees site selection committee at the winter RNC meeting. As a member of the committee, Scheffler will decide which city will host the 2016 Republican National Committee Convention. Scheffler was chosen as a representative from the Midwest region of the RNC. I was proud to cast my vote for Steve Scheffler, said Iowa State Chairman A.J. Spiker. Along with Tamara Scott our National Committeewoman, we both knew Steve would do an excellent job and pay close attention to the logistics and finances from the proposals each city is submitting for 2016. Steve Scheffler has served as Iowas National Committeeman for five years and currently sits on the RNC rules committee and resolutions committee. His election on Friday means Iowa will continue to be well represented at the RNC and will play a major role in which city hosts the next National Convention.
