Steve emailed--Getting ready to have my third test socket made in two months. Things havent been going well lately. Ive got multiple things going on with my leg so it is tough to fix them. My first prosthesis was a dream. This one is turning into a nightmare. As I was leaving the prosthetists office the other day after a long appointment, I turned on CD player in my truck. I had a Buffalo Springfield CD loaded. The first song starts out, There is something happening here. What it is aint exactly clear... I just started laughing--perfect timing. The lyrics expressed my thoughts (and my prosthetists thoughts) exactly. Hopefully this next casting (using a different method along with a socket using a different weight bearing system) will produce a solution to the multiple issues Ive been having. Right now, I am struggling more with a sense of hopelessness more than I ever had since LBKA 12/2013. Ive had set backs before, but up to this point I was always confident that Id get back up on top. Part of me still believes that; but Im struggling to regain my optimism.
