Stick a smiley on the faces of 100,000 children !!! Sri Lanka’s literacy level has hit 98% ,a happy news to all of us. Although it’s a proudful moment we still see children who rush to school without even the basic stationaries required for school. This sad truth creates an important question in my mind, whether we will be able to maintain our excellent literacy levels in the future? What could be the reason for this? There are plenty of needy families in Sri Lanka who are helpless and struggle even to satisfy their daily hunger. Thus ,though they have a desire to send their children to school, they don’t possess a sufficient income to provide their basic needs. They barely manage the days living and cant even consider the materials required for schooling of their children, which is an extra burden as per their living conditions. Such children reach schools with empty hands but heavy hearts, thus Jananam Foundation with the theme of “We for Ourselves” will try to bring a hope of happiness and fill their empty hands with a pack of stationaries. This time our mission is to provide the necessary stationaries for 100,000 needy school children. We look forward to your kind contribution for this worthy cause. Please be kind enough to contribute by purchasing tickets in one of the following methods as feasible for you. Option 1 Minimum 1 pack of exercise books- including 100 exercise books(each cost LKR 6500/=) Or otherwise Option 2 Minimum 1 pack of schooling bags- including 10 school bags (each cost LKR 8000/=) Option 3 Minimum 1 school pack- (each cost LKR 1300/=) This contribution will inspire those pessimistic faces to look delighted and will give them the hope of becoming a worthy citizen of this nation as we believe education is the key tool of success for any human being.
