Stolen Childrens Swings in Roxton - Appeal Bedfordshire Police are seeking information about the theft of children’s swings from a playground in Roxton over the night of 23/24 September 2014. Gary Maxey, investigating, said: “The swings were sited in the children’s play area by the Cricket pitch on Park Road, Roxton. On the night of 23/24 September the thieves removed the chain from the park gates and drove to the playground area where they ripped up the safety netting surrounding the swings. They then sawed through the four legs of the wooden swing, put this into their vehicle and drove off with them. “As you can imagine this is a heartless crime that has left the children of the village without their play equipment. We are appealing for anyone who may have seen these callous thieves on the park during the evening of Tuesday 23 September or the early hours of Wednesday 24 September to contact us. Alternatively you might have been in the Roxton area at these times and seen a vehicle loaded with these swings. If you did see it we’d like to hear from you.” Anyone with information relating to this incident can contact the Crime Bureau, in confidence, at Bedfordshire Police on 101, or text information to 07786 200011. Alternatively you can contact the independent crime fighting charity, Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
