Stop Press Breaking News: Jani Ibrahim Disgraced At Offa. Reports reaching me from Offa indicate that PDP Governorship aspirant in Kwara State, Alhaji Jani Ibrahim was today roundly humiliated by the people of Offa from attempting to flout INEC rules about politicking during the voter registration exercise. Accompanied by some aides and political associates from Offa, Ibrahim, who chairman of Lubcon Oil, was chased away from the wards as he arrived with PDP posters and flags in contravention of INEC rules and a police ban. At Ojomu Central A, the embarrassed aspirant beat a hasty retreat as the crowd, which had gathered to register, howled and shouted PDP Ole at the aspirant and his convoy as they made to enter the registration area. The embarassing scene was repeated at Balogun ward where he was pelted with Pure Water bags by irate Offa youths who expressed annoyance at the aspirants attempt to flout INEC rules and in view of his obvious lack of support or structure in Offa and environs. Although Jani ibrahim claims Offa ancestry, investigations reveal that he is actually from Igbonna, a village outside Offa and had never associated with or invested in the ancient town prior to his declaration of intention to contest for the 2015 elections on the platform of the PDP. More trouble however awaits Jani Ibrahim as his ambition is likely to run into a brick wall due to a perception that Alh Muina Shagaya, an Ilorin businesswoman with links to the presidency, is trying to foist the aspirant on Kwara PDP just as she did Dr. Mustafa Abubakar, the Ilorin-born academic who is now Minister of National Planning. Jani, who is perceived in heavily divided Kwara PDP as trying to reap where he didnt sow, also has to contend with Prof. Oba, Senator Ajadi, Senator Ajibola and Sen. Gbemi Saraki. Gbemi Saraki is perceived as controlling the party structure and is therefore set for a head-on collision with Jani Ibrahim, and by extension, Shagaya. On their part, Oba, Ajadi and Ajibola have thrown their hat in the ring in their bid to become Governor of Kwara State in 2015.
