Stopped at store this morning to get some snacks for the work day. Purchased my snacks and headed to the car. A little boy, 12 yrs old and his mother were outside looking in a dumpster. I ask if everything is ok and the little boy said they were looking for food. At that point the mom popped out of the dumpster and said that they were put out of their home over a month ago and had nowhere to go. I offered her a few dollars to get them something and she turned it down stating that stores and restaurants often throw away food at the end of the night so they will be fine. They were soaked to the bone(raining and 39f )and I backed up and told her come on inside the store and Ill get them a few items to get them through the day. So I let her pick out what they needed which was bread, some lunch meat, water, cereal. I got both of them some breakfast sandwiches at which time the little boy hugged me and had Tha KANG eyes a little tender!!!! That was so hard to see!!! They both hugged me and mom cried and thanked me. I told them no need to thank me and for her to keep thanking and looking to God!!! I gave her the cash in my wallet and went to work!! Please, help someone over these holidays!!! Never know when u might need a helping hand!!!!
