Storm tears through central Auckland Published: 5:51PM Friday August 16, 2013 Source: ONE News Storm rips through Auckland - Source: ONE News Related 14:09 Low to bring a wet weekend Fire services have been busy after a storm tore through central Auckland this afternoon. A large sign and its framing collapsed onto a busy street in the suburb of Newmarket. A fire communications spokesman said the sign measures about 20 by 10 metres and collapsed onto the ground. No injuries have been reported. Powerlines have also been reported to be down in Bucklands Beach and a house in Remuera has had wrapping blown off. A roof has also come off the Waipaua conference building in Mt Wellington. Fire crews and police were at the scene on the corner of Broadway and Teed Street.
