Storms likely through Southern Queensland (likely Severe), while activity is increasing over SEQ and NENSW #Brisbane #Ipswich #SEQ #QLD #QLDStorms The active trough is continuing to move slowly East, and it is likely to be placed over Central and Southern QLD tomorrow, which is putting people in those areas in a prime position for Storm activity. While in SEQ and NENSW, activity is increasing but only marginally as Storms build over the Great Dividing Range and head East slowly. Southern Queensland & Northern NSW: Storms are expected to fire up from the early afternoon under an extremely unstable atmosphere. These Storms are likely between Thargomindah to Dalby & Bourke to Moree, South of Mitchell / North of Coonabarabran and are likely to track towards the East to North-East and are likely to become Severe during the afternoon and into the evening. The main threat is for Damaging Winds and Heavy Rain, as Storms could be moving slowly. However, Large Hail is also a minor threat. Falls in excess of 25mm are a chance with these Storms. SEQ/NENSW: Storms are expected to develop across the Darling Downs and Northern Tablelands during the afternoon. These Storms are likely to track slowly towards the Coast and could become Severe, posing a threat for Damaging Winds and Heavy Rain. However, as they track towards the Coast it is expected that they will weaken. This doesnt mean the Coast misses out, just Thundery Rain with possible Flash Flooding is more likely than Severe Thunderstorms in general.
