Story time Once there was a giant tree which used to bear fruit and shade for all the travellers who sought its refuge. Many travellers wud revel in its shade and vanquish their hunger by eating its fruits. One day, a cunning traveller, who was very much overcome by his greed, pitched a tent at the base of the tree and called the tree his own. He charged the other travellers for the rest and fruits. He even didnt let the birds which nested on the tree to live peacefully. The birds on the tree rebelled and drove the cunning traveller away after many attempts. The traveller was so cunning, that he introduced a parasite plant on the tree. Overtime, the parasite plant started to suck the life out of the tree. The birds soon realised that the tree was no longer their abode and started to migrate to the other trees. Some birds adapted themselves to the parasite plant and started to live on it, instead of the main tree. Now lets analyse the situation. The tree we are talking about is India. The cunning traveller was the British and the parasite plant is reservation. As the time passes, the parasite plant will make the tree to wither thus rendering it useless and the birds which are adapted to the parasite plant will eventually perish as the parasite plant itself wont be able to survive if the main tree dies. The emigration of other birds can be taken as brain drain. This is the harsh situation in India which will come true one day if the parasite is not removed.
