Storytegic has been working in Poland for the last week. As part of an amazing experience here, we visited what must truly be hell on earth: Auschwitz, the largest death camp of the Nazi nightmare. There are three truths that became very, very clear to us during the five hours we spent on the blood-soaked ground of that horrendous place. Today, we want to share those three truths. They apply to brand, yes, and even more important, they apply to life. To everything. First, every act is a choice. Decisions we make, decisions we dont make. Products we buy. Companies and organizations we support. Actions, no actions, decisions and failures to make decisions. Candidates (or CEOs) we support. Orders we obey. Every act is a choice. Second, our humanity is precious. With it, we can be forces for change, forces for good, forces for empathy. Without it....well, the opposite. If we bring that humanity to everything we do -- how we design products, how we run meetings, how we treat colleagues and peers and suppliers, how we interact, how we perceive our customers -- we will build a better world. And finally, life is beautiful. We are given one (more than likely but we cannot be certain so even if there turn out to be more chances, lets hedge our bets). Our job is to live that life in the best way we can. With respect and compassion. With humor. With empathy. With love.
