Strategic business educational and consulting center jointly with Yerevan Production organizes a seminar titled Public speaking. The workshop is about the dos and donts of public speaking - the art of speaking in front of an audience, whether one or 1000. Public speaking is a skill necessary in a wide range of professions (e.g., sales, management, teaching, law), as well as in daily life interaction. The workshop will consist of viewing a video, discussion of the video, and activities. Youll learn - how to use humor and storytelling in a speech; - how to make a presentation memorable; - how to overcome stage fright; - how to recover from a memory lapse during a speech; - how to improve verbal and nonverbal communication skills. - specific strategies for overcoming the challenges of speech anxiety. The seminar will be conducted by Flora Keshishian, Associate Professor. Flora Keshishian, Ph.D., is a professor in the Department of Speech, Communication Sciences and Theatre at St. Johns University. She holds a Ph.D. from New York University, completing a dissertation in media ecology, which deals with the cultural context of communication. The seminar will be held on 17 July 2014, 18.30, by address 80, Arams street, 1st floor (near Malibu cafe, Yerevan productions building, the only old black building). The seminar will be held in English. The seminar is free of charge.
