Striking words I just heard from the Skynews reporter now - that something strange is happening in Leyte, that many people from outside through ferry, road and air are actually arriving in Leyte to help their relatives and friends. While it is a unique phenomenon, it seems natural for us Filipinos to do this. But its a sad commentary about the failure of our government and society to respond effectively so that people feel they have to take matters on their own hands.
