Struggling with the words to describe a single day on the road in Rajasthan let alone several at once. We are like aliens that are welcome with smiles and curiosity. Some things we have seen can only be seen and not described. Riding through Delhi now seems like a distant memory of a leisurely ride through any city. This trip is not for everyone, but we have seen beauty and horror that you can only witness on a motorcycle. Some of the tiny streets dont seem passably, yet traffic runs both ways. You want to stop and photograph everything, but you must push on. Yesterday we started the day with rain on the India roadway and finished with two hours of freezing cold riding in the dark. In between we were warmed by the people and the sun. At one point hundreds of smiling school children parted so we could barely squeeze though on the tiny country road we were on! Smiles from all directions. You may have heard that one should NEVER drive at night in India and after doing it on a motorcycle, please NEVER drive at night in India! We ended our day yesterday with rattled nerves and numb fingers chilled to the bone, with only one broken bike. The welcome from the family that owns the Mahansar fort we are staying in warmed our hearts and made every mile worth it.
