Student robbed of Ksh.14, 000 school fees in Eldoret town A true story of a student who was robbed of Ksh.14, 000 school fees and other valuables. It was at around 6.30pm when I alighted at Eldoret main stage and was crossing the road to the other side of the Police station when two men blocked my way in the middle of the way. One told me he had lost direction and wanted to be directed, but I told him I didn’t know where he was heading to. The other guy asked me whether I was carrying a laptop on my bag but I said no. They then drew closer and asked me what I was carrying on my bag. As they insisted on knowing what I was carrying, an old woman appeared from behind carrying tomatoes on her hands and told me we use some other routes to cross the road. She was old and frail and she convinced me that she had also tried to cross the road but the men blocked her way. I agreed and we headed towards Total petrol station at North Rift stage with the woman following me. It was getting darker at this time and I was in haste to cross the road and head towards Chepkoilel stage. Suddenly, from the dark emerged four gigantic men and surrounded me.The old woman talked to them in low tones then they all nodded together. One man ordered me not to utter a word or else that would be the end of me. Their looks in their faces was scary. Little did I know the woman was in a league with the men. She ordered to give the men my bag. I tried to resist and one man shoved a knife. I gave them my bag with all my valuables including my school fees of Ksh.14, 000. The woman also ordered me to surrender my mobile phone, earings, chains and bracelets. It was a relief when a car pulled to the stage and they all disappeared to one direction along Uganda road. I had to borrow transport to the house as they made away with everything. I am now confused. Beware guys those old women you see are con ladies especially around white castle.
