Sub-postmasters are today considering a restructuring plan which could lead to the closure of 3,000 post offices in towns and cities across the UK. But what impact could potential closures have on our communities? The elderly in particular rely on their local post office for a variety of services and often they offer an important point of human contact - perhaps the only point. British people are already officially the loneliest in Europe - were unlikely to know our neighbors and many of us wouldnt think of saying hello to someone we pass on the street everyday - and yet for someone that singular word could be the most important thing they hear all day.
