Subject: Your opportunity to help select Hollistons next Director of Student Services Dear Parents: The search for Holliston’s next Student Services Director is entering its final phase. A Screening Committee, comprised of parents, educators, administrators, and a member of the Holliston School Committee, screened all applications, selected about a dozen applicants to invite in for a Screening interview, and following all of the interviews, selected three Finalists to forward to me to complete the remainder of the hiring process. I am pleased to announce the names of the Finalists (in alphabetical order): Margaret Camire: Student Services Administrator at Holliston High School and currently serving as Interim Student Services Director until a permanent Director comes on board. Steven Kaplan: Director of Student Services, Sharon Public Schools; and Jerry Schimmel: Director of Special Education, Dover-Sherborn Regional School District. Essential to this process is the opportunity for all staff members and parents of students who are served by our Student Services Department to meet the finalists and offer their views regarding who they think is the best fit for Holliston. In order to provide this opportunity, I have invited all three finalists to spend a day here in Holliston visiting our schools and meeting our staff and parents. I have set aside an hour at the end of each candidate’s visit for an informal reception where interested parties can meet the candidate. These receptions will be held from 3-4PM in the Conference Room in the Superintendent’s Office, located on the Highland Street side of Holliston High School. The visit schedule is as follows: Thursday, March 20, 2014: Jerry Schimmel Monday, March 24, 2014: Steven Kaplan Tuesday, March 25, 2014: Margaret Camire I expect to complete the search by Thursday, April 3, 2014, where I will introduce my selection to the School Committee at their regular meeting that evening.
