Born to a typical Indian middle-class family in the metropolitan city of Mumbai in the early 80’s, I grew up following the “road most taken” and graduated with an engineering degree from the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology. After working in the corporate world for over 7 years and giving birth to my first child, I finally decided to follow my calling and setup the Sublime Canvas. My artwork is hugely influenced by emotions and dilemmas that we as humans face every single day. In my work, I take the most ordinary situations and try to build up layers of realization that are, in most case, lost in the moment. Layers of realism and abstraction flow fluidly through my paintings creating an intricate mesh that keeps the viewer engaged. Through my highly textured and bold paintings, I hope to stir varied emotions in a viewer, somehow striking a chord with their otherwise ordinary lives.
