Subsidy offered for purchase of deep sea fishing vessels Port Blair, July 6 The Fisheries Department has invited applications from Individuals/ Self Help Groups/ Joint Liability Groups/ Co-op. Societies/ Co-op. Federation/ Partnership Firms/ Private Limited Companies from A&N Islands for availing the subsidy for ‘Construction/ Purchase of new Deep Sea Fishing Vessels’ under Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) during 2014-15. Subsidy @ of 25% of the cost of fishing vessel subject to a maximum of ` 25.00 lakh per vessel will be extended under the scheme and the subsidy is bank linked. For availing the scheme, the overall length (OAL) of the vessel should be minimum of 45 feet and maximum of 65 feet. Subsidy would be admissible only for newly constructed/ purchased fishing vessels and the subsidy would be sanctioned only after the sanction of loan by the Bank financing the project. The vessel should be a multipurpose fishing vessel with long lining as one of the main components with provision for trolling/ gill netting and should have facilities for refrigerated sea water tank/ brine tank and insulated fish hold. The subsidy shall be admissible for a maximum of two deep sea fishing vessels per beneficiary in case of sufficient number of applicants are not available. Application form and detailed Terms & Conditions of the scheme can be obtained from the Directorate of Fisheries/ Fisheries Zonal Offices/ Fisheries Sub Offices/ Panchayat Samities and the completed applications in duplicate along with the approved drawing, design from certified Naval Architect and cost estimate quotation from the manufacturer/ supplier may be submitted to the nearest Fisheries Zonal Offices/ Fisheries Sub Offices/ Panchayat Samities on or before July 20, 2014.
