Such a negative light on having faith....Since when did having faith become such a bad thing? I say this in reference to a friends post. There are a few of us that kind of debate (More or less voice our opinions) on posts related to God and science. - But when did faith become so ill-fated and negative to people of science? Faith has done quite a bit for people when it comes to donations, organizations, feeding the hungry, clothing the poor. Granted there are some people of faith who dont do anything or want to do anything except criticize, crucify, and send people to hell, but you really always have those negative people in any kind of group of people...I get the whole point of my friend saying if you just stop at faith, it dulls the mind. Meaning - If we dont question or search deeper in things we believe in, we become stagnant. However in my belief(and im going to paraphrase this because im kind of lazy to quote directly) when Christ says come as a child - What does that mean? To me it means come ready to learn, open minded, seeking knowledge of things you do not know - not stubborn or narrow minded. To me, to have Christian Faith you must always live ready to learn and to seek knowledge. This might come as a shocker to most of you, but I dont know it all. Im still fairly new to the whole God thing because I have always played from a 3rd person perspective with an analytical mind ready to rip questions and information to shreds while I break it down in thought. What is wrong with people who have faith in a God, and are still seeking answers and knowledge? What is the difference between a true Christian like that and a true scientists. IMO, nothing. - Just the details.
